COMPANY HISTORY     

Markem Financial Services, Inc. opened the first escrow agency in the Pahrump Valley on August 19, 1988, commencing operations under the name Markem Escrow Agency.  Its founder, Kim Woldehanna, had been in banking for nearly 20 years and was manager of the first bank in Pahrump, Valley Bank of Nevada.  The original escrow office was located at 41 E. Basin Road, and was initially staffed by Mr.Woldehanna and two escrow assistants.

In 1996 Markem built its own facility at 1161 S. Loop Road.  Markem’s staff had grown to ten employees.  But the expansion was not over.  Within 18 months, the facility on S. Loop Road had to be doubled in size.

In 1998, Markem Financial Services, Inc. was licensed as a title company and developed a state of the art title plant.  In 1999 Markem established a new branch on Calvada Blvd.  with a special emphasis on developer and commercial financing operating under the name, Alliance Title Company of Nevada.

Today, Markem and Alliance have expanded and centralized their operations in a new office center they developed at 3190 S. Hwy 160, Suite C, in the Community Bank Complex.  Markem and Alliance provide comprehensive title insurance, escrow services and account servicing to its customers.  However, they will continue to emphasize developer, commercial financing and residential transactions. 

This is part of Markem and Alliance's overall effort to provide tailor made services for increasingly diverse transactions.  Markem and Alliance have assembled the staff and developed the relationships that give it the capacity to deliver nationwide resources and expertise with local professionals who know Pahrump.
